Battle of the Elements is a competitive dance event which involves a variety of different dance styles such as Hiphop, Breakdance and Contemporary dance. As we have witnessed in our previous editions, the success of this battle concept lays in the cross over approach: dancers from different backgrounds challenge each other through dance
during a battle. Because of this success and the inspiration that is a direct result from it, we will emphasize the All Style element even more in the third edition of this event. By creating an inspiring and challenging environment for the dancers to excel in, we encouraging maximum creative exchange and dialogue between the dancers involved. We strive to include dancers that are innovative movers, expressive and have the ability to challenge their opponent to reach the best within themselves. Therefore, we work by invitation only, with the exception of two Elements, where there will be one spot available through a pre- selection on the day of the event. By including only the best, we provide the new generation of movers with role models that they can live up to: working and training hard to be standing across them during the next battle event. The battle structure consist of four unique platforms that are assigned as elements: Earth, fire, water and air:
Fire The fire element represents the Seven-to-smoke battle showdown. Who will be the first dancer to win over seven dancers in a row? Eight skilled breakdancers are invited for this fiery platform.
Earth The earth element represent group showcases. Each group will be given specific tasks to be evaluated by the judges from Battle of the Elements’ organization. Groups can consist of one or can consist of different styles of dance, as long as they are performing within the given creative frame.
Water The water element represents one vs one All styles dance battles. As any dance style can be performed in this platform, the dancers invited will be tested for their musicality, moves execution, creativity and dance foundation. It is the ultimate sight of individualistic freedom.
Air The air element represents two vs two All styles dance battles. For his edition we invite dancers to create duo’s to face another duo on the floor.
Five judges got invited to judge the battles for this volume: 1) Julia Cheng from the United Kingdom - All styles 2) Mahmoud Shoukry - All styles 3) Ahmed Antar (A.K.A Klash) - All styles and Seven-to-smoke 4) Islam Oraby (A.K.A Magicx) - Seven-to-smoke 5) Ahmed Abd El Monaem (A.K.A Cheetos) - Seven-to-smoke
